Mission Statement

Uplift Help International has as its mission the empowerment of people regardless of creed, race, or status, by improving health, education, and leadership. All are served with dignity and caring.

Uplift Help International ministers to impoverished people in Africa, and in particular, the town of Ishiagu, Nigeria. A well established 501(c)3 corporation, its goal is to improve the physical, spiritual, social, and economic health of children, women, and men.

Uplift Help International, to get the necessary funds and materials, solicits and receives assistance from benevolent corporations and individual donors. It provides direct relief and assistance to those in need through healthcare screening, pediatric surgery, and the distribution of free medication.

The Mission to Ishiagu began in 2005 when a long-held dream of serving in Africa became reality through collaboration with Father Chux Okochi and Dr. Marcel Ajah. Early efforts focused on providing free health screenings and medications, supported by volunteers from the United States and local Nigerian medical professionals. In May of 2006, Uplift Help International Inc. was formally established as a 501(C)3 nonprofit organization.  Recognizing the urgent need for sustainable healthcare, the organization began planning and fundraising in 2008 to construct a primary health care center, aiming to improve access to consistent medical services for the town’s seventeen villages. 

Performing comprehensive fundraising activities through partnerships with Christian missions, personal and professional networks, philanthropists, luncheons, dinners, and charitable organizations to generate financial support for organizational programs and community outreach initiatives. Developing and maintaining relationships with donors, coordinating fundraising events, and promoting awareness of the organization’s mission to ensure continued engagement and sustainable funding.

Connecting with doctors, nurses, students, and other caring individuals who want to give back. Creating a supportive space where volunteers feel valued as they share their time, skills, and compassion to uplift the community we serve.
